Description in English: The series, titled "Research and laboratory practices in psychology" is a response to the interest expressed by the team of teachers guiding the chairs of Basic Psychological Processes in the Psychology Program at the University of Magdalena. They sought the construction of appropriate educational materials and resources to support their teaching activities, as the study of basic psychological processes is central to the training of psychologists.This first text serves as the conceptual and methodological foundation for these practices, addressing contextual, historical, legal, ethical, normative, and procedural aspects related to experimental activity in psychology, especially in the area of basic psychological processes. It justifies the importance of studying these processes, emphasizing the historical and scientific background that enabled the origin and development of experimental psychology, and highlighting the dialectical relationship between scientific knowledge, the scientific method, and scientific research. The text also emphasizes the ethical considerations and safety standards required for laboratory work.Therefore, it is an indispensable book for university psychology students and a valuable resource for teachers.
