Description in English: This is a controversial book, addressed to the slanderers of the Latin American Liberator Simón Bolívar. It is the posthumous work of the recently disappeared Cuban historian Jorge Ibarra Cuesta. With “Simón Bolívar, between Scylla and Charybdis”, its author intends to vindicate the liberator of the attacks of certain historiography, clarifying the historical truth about two controversial aspects related to the life of the founder of Colombia: the arrest of Francisco de Miranda in 1812 and the “Right to Wage War to Death” proclaimed the following year.

Este es un libro polémico, dirigido contra los calumniadores del Libertador Simón Bolívar. Es la obra póstuma del recientemente desaparecido historiador cubano Jorge Ibarra Cuesta. Con Simón Bolívar, entre Escila y Caribdis, su autor se propone vindicar al libertador de los ataques de cierta historiografía, esclareciendo la verdad histórica sobre dos aspectos controvertidos relacionados con la vida del fundador de Colombia: el arresto de Francisco de Miranda en 1812 y el Derecho de Guerra a Muerte proclamando al año siguiente.
