Description in English: In the work, it describes and studies globalization (mondialisation) as a real process, compares the theories and political actions of the main actors, giving importance to the geography of economic globalization and the decisions that arise with multilateralism and regionalism; It also analyzes financial and monetary globalization, insisting on the processes of volatility, speculation, vulnerability, and contagion.Likewise, it focuses on the aspects of inequality and poor distribution of income that occurred until 2003, and that deepened with the indiscriminate neoliberal opening. It attaches great importance to the study of the structural and social impacts on work produced by the North American Free Trade Agreement (ALENA), also called NAFTA.According to Professor Herrera Valencia, due to the asymmetries between States and unequal economic agents, production, exchange, and financial structures of an oligopolistic nature have arisen. He rightly emphasizes that the three partners are not equal: the first, the US, is a global hegemonic power; The second, Canada, is a developed country, whose economy has increasingly depended on the United States; and the third, Mexico, is a developing country, which has had benefits from NAFTA, although important costs on the quality of employment and agricultural development, mainly.Later, his analysis focuses on Colombia, which through opening, after the 90s, sought its insertion INSERT INTO the global economy. He concludes that since that moment our country, despite the extension of the advantages to enter the US market, has had mediocre management of its economy and has not properly benefited from such advantages.
