Description in English: This book results from research started in 2014 on the relationship between Colombian literature and violence. It is not just another study on this catastrophic topic to which many researchers have contributed from the humanities and on which few have reflected from poetry. This text discusses the poetic image, documentary lyric, and political intentions in two Colombian testimonial poetry works. The method is typical of critical social interpretation and includes philosophy and art to delve INSERT INTO the sensitive affections and aspirations of peace and democracy during the eighties and nineties. With this, the research’s double objective is fulfilled: to think about affections—their ethical and aesthetic expressions—in the poetic testimony and place the works in the Colombian literature landscape. The works by two poets murdered at the time are spotlighted, as they are pivotal in the emergence of testimonial poetry in the context of historical memory and the national political panorama. Besides, they have paved the way for other contemporary poetic forms in Colombia.
