Description in English: This work derives from three research processes that converge in a central point: logistics management in different supply chains in the Caribbean region and the problems associated with their competitiveness. The first one analyzes the low competitiveness of agri-business chains in Magdalena and proposes a mathematical model to optimize agricultural product transportation. The second one discusses a marketer’s urban distribution operations in Barranquilla and presents a practical route optimization tool. The last one explores the logistics service intermediaries’ profile in the Colombian Caribbean and the alternatives to improve this sector’s competitiveness by adopting collaborative logistics practices.
