Description in English: Academic performance (AR), also known as academic achievement, is a variable that interests students of all levels, teachers, parents and researchers. That is to say, all those who are affected in any measure and dimension of performance in the educational system are interested in this variable, which has always become challenging for the formation of young people, especially university students. The authors go through the different topics suggested by the title of the work, presenting, initially, the multimodal character of AR; then, the scientific evidences about multiple intelligences with their different types and their implication with AR are presented; then, AR, in which learning styles, self-regulation and emotion theory are included; then continues the chapter linking biological aspects such as circadian preference or chronotype, which includes and explains the sleep-wake cycle and the AR, as well as circadian preference and cognitive performance, which is a factor of study in recent years. The book ends with a chapter dedicated to how depressive symptoms and suicidal ideation interfere with academic performance.
