Description in English: The book presents the concepts and basic laws of fluid mechanics. The first chapter describes hydrostatics, covering the principles of Pascal and Archimedes, among others, while analyzing various everyday phenomena and some industrial applications related to the behavior of fluids at rest. The second chapter shows how the concepts and laws of basic classical physics are applied to fluids in motion, using the conservation of mass, conservation of energy, the work theorem and kinetic energy, among others, to describe and analyze the flow of ideal fluids, which is part of the object of study of hydrodynamics. Likewise, different phenomena and applications are analyzed, resorting to fundamental principles, expressed in the continuity and Bernoulli equations. Finally, the third chapter introduces the concept of viscosity to analyze the flow of real fluids, addressing various phenomena related to viscous forces and the application of Poiseuille's law. Throughout the text, model examples are presented, in addition to partially solved exercises, in order to develop the student's skills in solving physics problems, which involves the development of generic competencies, essential in the training of engineering students.
