Description in English: This book derives from the doctoral thesis "La gestión directiva en las organizaciones educativas: una interpretación desde la perspectiva de la resignificación de los Proyectos Educativos Institucionales -PEI-" (Directive management in educational organizations: an interpretation from the perspective of the redefinition of Institutional Educational Projects -IDP-). This research arose from the tensions evident in the daily practices carried out by principals in primary and secondary education institutions in the management field, in contrast to the provisions stipulated in the IDP, which strongly impact the quality of education. The educational institution is positioned as a complex organization, a social construction in which pedagogical management is developed. In particular, executive management is always oriented from the IDP, deepening its conception, structure, and development. This «resignification» is based on a methodological perspective for the strengthening of the IDP: as a pedagogical mediation, that is, reflexive, dialectical, critical, and transformative, which generates emerging rationalities to reflect upon and act in executive management. We are committed to an emerging conception that assumes and experiences the management of educational organizations as pedagogical. To the extent that all executive action is thought of like this, we will advance in overcoming the rupture between the pedagogical and the administrative, understanding that the pedagogical is the defining feature that gives an identity seal to such organizations. Our great theoretical and social bet is for the redefinition of pedagogical management.
