Description in English: ?Various non-governmental organizations (NGOs), the United Nations Organization (UN) and its affiliate, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), as well as various entities from the public and private sectors, have raised the need to seek alternatives to increase the consumption of foods with high nutritional value and high digestibility, which guarantee development and balanced nutrition in humans, especially in countries where hunger and malnutrition ail their populations. The document addresses issues related to the promotion of aquaculture for contributing to this purpose. It reflects on how fish farming could help to eradicate hunger and reduce malnutrition, the role of domestication, and its impact on the development of fish farming. In addition, the fish's reproductive biology and nutritional and health aspects are analyzed. Finally, it deals with a topic of interest where the importance of examining the main generalities to be considered in the assembly of a fish farming project is exposed, such as the technical, economic, and financial aspects necessary when making decisions related to the investment of economic resources.
