Description in English: The book unfolds in three parts. First, we find time, space, phenomena, noumen, categories, synthetic judgments a priori, the world, the soul, and God, exposed by Kant in the Critique of Pure Reason. Then we find the same themes from Saint Augustine’s perspective, forming a parallel to showcase similarities between these authors, thus finding, among other things, that Saint Augustine, similarly to Kant, defines the phenomenon as that which appears and that there is a conceptual similarity between Kant’s categories and Saint Augustine’s pure notions of understanding. We also show how in both authors, the ideas of world, soul, and God are taken to integrate all knowledge, with the difference that in Kant, they are necessary assumptions that cannot be experienced, while in Saint Augustine, these are stages of knowledge for reaching the only true knowledge. It concludes by proposing Plato as the link that unites these two thinkers.
