Description in English: The last tide: history, archeology and anthropology at Vueltabajo, by María del Carmen Barcia Zequeria, Jorge F. Garcell Domínguez and Miriam Herrera Jerez, is the result of an arduous interdisciplinary research on the slave trade in Cuba, especially in its illicit stage. The book analyses four slave shipments that took place in the 19th century, specifically in the western region of the island: two have been briefly mentioned in other specialized studies and two are presented to the public for the first time.
