Description in English: There have been multiple studies on education developed in our country; however, those related to the pedagogical styles of university teachers have been scarce, despite their undoubted importance. Faced with this situation, a group of full-time teachers from the University of Magdalena undertook the task of conducting the research 'Identification and Characterization of the Pedagogical Styles of University Professors on the Colombian Caribbean Coast,' co-financed by COLCIENCIAS, ICFES-SECAB, and FONCIENCIAS from the University of Magdalena. Framed in qualitative and quantitative paradigms, it refers to the various imprints of teachers that allow them to be recognized among others in the same profession. Developed in a Caribbean geographical space, the research typifies the pedagogical theory of the universities of Atlántico, Cartagena, Popular del Cesar, Córdoba, Guajira, Universidad del Norte, Corporación Universitaria del Sinú, Universidad de Sucre, and Magdalena and their trends around her. It is supported by the identification of various dimensions of being a teacher (empathic, relational, epistemological, curricular, pedagogical, evaluative, and didactic) with which the different styles of the university teacher on the Caribbean Coast are characterized and conceptualized, supported by institutional documents. Furthermore, the above is validated through a questionnaire applied to students and teachers to identify the characteristic seal, imprint, or style of the teachers of the aforementioned universities. As a product of this work, 7 dimensions and 18 imprints of the teacher are recognized that reconfirm the diversity of being Caribbean.This study is especially aimed at teachers from universities involved in research and those from higher education institutions in general so that they recognize its characteristics, dimensions, and imprints; reflect on them and make decisions that lead to the appropriation of new universal educational trends and the continuous improvement of the quality of higher education.
