Description in English: Quality indicators in higher education are signals, variables, or qualitative and quantitative expressions that demonstrate the significance of the degree, measurement, existence, and evolution of quality conditions (understood as added value and student satisfaction) in relation to its improvement. This work, resulting from eleven years of research, presents a balanced scorecard-type quality indicator system resulting from the study and analysis of international literature, interviews conducted with directors of university academic programs, peer accreditation evaluators, professors, and graduates. Additionally, the indicators that make up the system resulted from the analysis of programs that obtained the best results in the ECAES tests (Higher Education Quality Examinations) in Colombia, 2004-2010, experiences of accredited and non-accredited programs for high quality, and proposals for accreditation guidelines from the National Accreditation Council CNA 2006 and 2013. The indicators of the system proposed in this book apply to the strategic processes of university academic programs. Consequently, its reading is crucial for rectors, vice-chancellors, deans, directors of academic programs, directors of departments or academic areas, researchers, professors, students, officials of ministries of education, legislators, and anyone interested in the improvement of higher education.View description in English
